    Description

    1839-C HM-2 Quarter Eagle, VF30
    Green Label Holder

1839-C $2 1/2 HM-2, R.6, VF30 PCGS. A rare die combination for this early Charlotte issue. The mintmark is positioned over the 3 in the date, and the branch stem extends over the D in the denomination. Obverse detail is impressively sharp for the grade, although more wear is seen on the reverse eagle's neck and wings. Straw-gold coloration complements the natural surfaces. Housed in a green label holder.
    From The Redding Collection.
