1839-D $2 1/2 --Cleaned--ANACS. XF45 Details. Variety 1-B, R.4. Variety 1-B is easily recognized by the bold repunching of the final digit of the date (still referred to as 1839/8-D by ANACS) and by arrowheads firmly touching the final letters in AMERICA. The surfaces are unnaturally bright from the cleaning and show normal striking weakness on the reverse. Scarce and in demand nonetheless.(Registry values: P4)
