1839-D $2 1/2 -- Improperly Cleaned -- NGC Details. VG. Variety 1-A. A well-worn and once-cleaned but still intriguing piece of Classic Head Dahlonega gold. Stark yellow surfaces are overly bright, but despite Very Good-level detail, the obverse retains bold outlines on the central devices, and the date and mintmark are clear.(Registry values: P4)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25G5, PCGS# 7700, Greysheet# 8260)
