Description
1839-O $2 1/2 XF40 NGC. Low Date, Close Fraction. McCloskey-B, R.4. An elusive quarter eagle variety from the Close Fraction reverse with both digit elements of the fraction touching the diagonal bar on the reverse. The reverse is also inverted and has a horizontal die crack from the right (facing) wing to the eagle's head. Yellow-gold surfaces display splashes of peach and a few small marks.(Registry values: P3)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25G7, PCGS# 7701, GSID# 8261)
