    Lustrous AU 53 1839-O Quarter Eagle

    1839-O $2 1/2 AU 55 PCGS. High Date; Wide Fraction. The obverse is well struck for the issue, while the reverse exhibits considerable weakness on the eagle's talons, the arrows, and the branch. There is considerable luster beneath the reddish-gold patina and numerous small marks are evident. An extremely popular issue that is rare in grades of AU 53 and above.
