    Description

    1879 12.5C T. Hobron, Kahului-Wailuku 12 1/2 Cent Railroad Token, 6/2 Stars, M. 2TE-8, AU55 PCGS. Captain Thomas H. Hobron built a railroad in Maui to transport sugar from plantations to a seaport. There are two varieties of the 12 1/2 cent denomination, one with six stars on the dated side, while the other (M. 2TE-9) shows two stars. This is a problem-free chocolate-brown example with moderate inexactness of strike along the lower borders. Listed on page 414 of the 2015 Guide Book.
