    Description

    1883 Hawaii Half Dollar, PR63
    Extremely Rare and Reflective

1883 50C Hawaii Half Dollar PR63 PCGS Secure. Ex: Forsythe Collection. This Select proof PCGS-certified 1883 Hawaii half dollar is an extremely rare and important item for the collector of Hawaiian coinage. Reliable references give the proof mintage of the silver dime, quarter, half dollar, and dollar at just 26 pieces each in proof sets, along with 20 examples of the one-eighth dollar pattern, a coin that was replaced with the dime and never saw regular production. The present Select proof half dollar retains considerable reflectivity throughout each side, underneath light layers of pinkish-gold and pastel-blue patina. A few contact marks and light field hairlines determine the grade, but this is a coin of noteworthy rarity and good eye appeal. Population: 3 in 63, 1 finer (10/14).

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 26XJ, PCGS# 10993)
