    1880 TOKEN Wailuku Plantation Token, 1 Real, AU55 PCGS. The Wailuku Plantation issued undated 1/2 real and 1 real tokens in 1871, and similarly denominated tokens dated 1880. The 1 real tokens were equivalent to 12 1/2 cents, or one-eighth of a Spanish dollar, reportedly equal to one day's wages on the sugar plantations. This Choice AU token exhibits splendid surfaces of walnut, chestnut, and mahogany patina. Population: 4 in 55, 0 finer (11/17). (NGC ID# 2UBN, PCGS# 600512)
