    Description

    American Plantations Token, MS61
    N. 2-B, Struck in 1688

(1688) TOKEN American Plantations 1/24 Part Real MS61 NGC. Newman 2-B, W-1135, R.6. American Plantations tokens were restruck circa 1828, but specialists agree that Newman 2-B is one of the original varieties struck in 1688. This is an impressive example with luster emerging from areas untouched by oxidation. Fields and high points are toned gunmetal-gray and exhibit the pebbled surfaces invariably encountered on the tin alloy issue. Listed on page 41 of the 2014 Guide Book.
From The Old New England Collection.
