Description

(1688) TOKEN American Plantations Token AU55 PCGS. Breen 77 or 78. A nice example with typical surfaces (finely granular) with only very mild tin pest present. While some varieties are clearly originals or restrikes (see other lots of Plantation tokens in this sale), the striking date of this specimen can't be definitely determined. Both originals and restrikes are very collectible. The restrikes were made about 1828 from original dies which were made about 1688.
