Description
Betts-615 Libertas Americana Medal
Bronze, AU Details
(1781) Libertas Americana Medal in Bronze -- Obverse Damage --
NGC Details. AU. Betts-615. NGC lists the unusual implied date
of "1782" for this piece; 1781 is traditional. Though Liberty's
portrait is lightly rubbed and shows a number of digs, especially
on the cheek, the essential beauty of the artist's vision is
undiminished. A fundamentally pleasing and accessible example of
this French-made yet quintessentially American icon. Listed on page
86 of the 2012 Guide Book.
