Triple Struck Engrailed Edge Kentucky Token

(1792-94) TOKEN Kentucky Token, Engrailed Edge MS62 Brown PCGS. Breen-1162, "Very rare." Although not designated as a mint error by PCGS, this piece is triple struck within the collar and has an unusually wide diameter. The dies rotated slightly between strikes. The Engrailed Edge variety is rare relative to the usual Plain Edge and Lancaster Edge varieties. The mildly prooflike surfaces are toned tan-brown and lime. Inconspicuous marks are noted near the South Carolina star. Encapsulated in a green label PCGS holder. Listed on page 71 of the 2007 Guide Book.
