    Gold '1796' Castorland Medal
    Modern Paris Mint Restrike
    MS64, W-9160

"1796" Castorland Medal, Paris Mint Restrike, Gold, MS64 PCGS. W-9160. The edge is plain except for a cornucopia hallmark, followed by the number 3 and the metal designation OR. Struck during the 1960s or later. The obverse is convex, and both sides are prooflike. The fields exhibit die polish lines but the grade appears conservative, since there are no apparent abrasions or hairlines. A modern example of the famous medal that commemorates the French immigrant settlement of Castorland, New York.
