MS63 American Plantations Token
Newman 5-D, Circa-1828 Restrike
(c. 1828) TOKEN American Plantations 1/24 Part Real, Restrike
MS63 PCGS. Newman 5-D, W-1160. A remarkably attractive light
walnut-brown and gunmetal-gray example with boldly brought up
devices and unabraded surfaces. Struck a few degrees off center
toward 7:30. The flan has a thin radial crack, as struck, at 2
o'clock, and the reverse has an edge flaw near the T in PART. A
small spot on the base of the F in FRAN, and mint-made flaws on the
rider's hip, horse's tail, and a chain link are of little
consequence. Listed on page 41 of the 2013 Guide Book.
Population: 6 in 63, 0 finer (10/12).Ex: Denver Signature (Heritage, 8/2006), lot 5, which realized $5,750.
