1652 Pine Tree Threepence, VF30
Noe-36, Salmon 2-B
1652 3PENCE Pine Tree Threepence VF30 NGC. CAC. Noe-36, W-640,
Salmon 2-B, R.4. 17.1 gn. No pellets. A late die state of
Noe-36. The shape of the letters in MAS conforms to Noe-36 but the
horizontal breaks beneath the M are typically seen on Noe-37.
Gunmetal-gray overall with hints of rose and aqua toning. The
obverse is misaligned toward 7 o'clock but displays a clear tree
and much of the letters MAS. The remainder of the legends are
absent or not struck up. The reverse has full legends except the
tops of NEW EN are affected by mint clips and the top of the D is
faint. The date and denomination are clear. Mildly wavy, as made
from a rocker press. Listed on page 39 of the 2013 Guide
