Finest Certified 1652 Oak Tree Sixpence, AU53 PCGS

1652 6PENCE Oak Tree Sixpence AU53 PCGS. Noe-20, Crosby 1a-D, R.6. 34.4 grains. A lavender-gray example that possesses smooth, glossy surfaces that have noticeably contrasting silvery accents over the highpoints of the devices. Well struck on the tree, date, and denomination. The obverse is moderately off center toward 12 o'clock, a few letters are partly off the flan and a couple other peripheral letters have a typical strike. Wavy, as made from a rocker press. Noe-20, Noe-21, and Noe-22 are from the same die pair, but the first S in MASATHVSETS was recut to create the latter two varieties. Noe-20 is identified by the presence of beads beneath the S. As of (11/05), this is the single finest PCGS-graded 1652 Oak Tree sixpence.
