Description
Scarce VF30 Oak Tree Sixpence, Crosby's Reverse D
1652 6PENCE Oak Tree Sixpence VF30 PCGS. Dies of Noe-20 through Noe-22. More precise attribution is dubious since the distinguishing factor, the shape of the first S in MASATHVSETS, is absent due to mint-made clips, an obverse misaligned toward 10 o'clock, and concentrated wear on the left obverse border. The upper right portion of the tree is also worn, but the remainder of the designs are bold. Toned lavender and ice-blue with minor double striking on the base of the V in VI. Listed on page 37 of the 2010 Guide Book.Coin Index Numbers: (PCGS# 19, GSID# 5)
