1652 Oak Tree Threepence, XF40
Rare Salmon 2-A

1652 Oak Tree Threepence, No IN on Obverse, Noe-24, W-270, Salmon 2-A, High R.6, XF40 NGC. 17.6 grains. A rare Salmon variety with a retrograde first S in MASATHVSETS. The date is delicately engraved, as is the second N in ENGLAND. The present piece is struck moderately off center toward 1:30, but the legends are virtually complete. The gunmetal-gray surfaces are free from distractions, and the sharpness is decidedly above-average for the variety. Listed on page 8 of the 2026 Guide Book.
