Noe-8.2, Rare Late Die State
1652 Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet, No Pellets, Ligatured
NE, VF30 PCGS. Noe-8.2, W-740, Salmon 7-E, R.6. 66.67 grains. A
late die state with a "potato" die break below the tree roots, in
addition to the breaks between GL and OM on the reverse. A pleasing
midgrade example with pearl-white high points and gunmetal-gray
fields. Mint-made clips affect the upper obverse legend and give
the piece a somewhat oval shMASAT ASAT shows moderately greater
wear than the remainder of the design. No marks are worthy of
