1652 Pine Tree Shilling, VF20
Large Planchet, Salmon 1-A
1652 Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet, Pellets at Trunk,
Noe-1, W-690, Salmon 1-A, R.2, VF20 PCGS. A pleasing Pine Tree
collector coin. The obverse is lightly toned steel-gray and
straw-gold. The reverse is mostly cream-gray. The tree is fairly
sharp, as is a majority of the peripheral legends. Struck slightly
off-center toward 5 o'clock, more noticeable on the obverse since
the obverse die was also misaligned toward 5 o'clock. A slight
Boston Mint straight clip appears between 3 and 4 o'clock. A minor
flan split is noted at 6 o'clock. Housed in a Generation 3.1 green
label holder. Listed on page 9 of the 2026 Guide Book.From The Bob Hastings Collection.
