1652 Oak Tree Shilling, XF Details
IN at Bottom, Noe-5

1652 SHILNG Oak Tree Shilling, IN at Bottom -- Damage -- PCGS Genuine. XF Details. Noe-5, W-470, Salmon 3-D, R.2. Ex: House of Davis McKinney. 70.06 gm. A well defined representative of the intermediate Massachusetts silver type. The characteristic flan wave (as made) causes the date to be the high point of the coin, and protects the richly detailed tree. The silver-gray surfaces are attractive upon initial inspection, though a few tiny marks are noted on the central obverse, and the field east of the denomination has a small vertical scrape. Listed on page 39 of the 2016 Guide Book.
From The House of Davis McKinney.
