Description
Richly Detailed Noe-5 Oak Tree Shilling
1652 SHILNG Oak Tree Shilling VF30 PCGS. Noe-5, Crosby 2-D, R.2. 69.4 grains. Generally with pearl-gray patina, although hints of olive color reside in protected areas. Die breaks (as made) before and after the A in AN DOM. The oak tree has wispy pinscratches near its northeast corner, and the borders are irregular as made. The obverse is slightly off-center, with the legends below the oak tree mostly but not completely on the flan. The eye appeal is very strong overall for the grade, as the oak tree and the majority of the legends are bold. Listed on page 18 of the current Guide Book. From The Dennis Ridings Collection.
