    Scarce VF30 Noe-5 1652 Oak Tree Shilling

1652 SHILNG Oak Tree Shilling VF30 PCGS. Noe-5, Crosby 2-D, R.2. 69.4 grains. Pearl-gray toning enriches this desirable Massachusetts silver piece, although hints of olive color reside in protected areas. Die breaks (as made) before and after the A in AN DOM. A few wispy marks are present near the edges of the tree, but the overall appearance is smooth. The obverse is moderately off-center, with the legends below the oak tree partly off the flan. The oak tree and the majority of the legends are bold. Listed on page 37 of the 2008 Guide Book.
