    Description

Bold Choice VF 1652 Oak Tree Shilling

1652 SHILNG Oak Tree Shilling VF30 PCGS. Noe-5, Crosby 2-D, R.2. 69.4 grains. Pearl-gray hues dominate this desirable Massachusetts silver piece, although hints of olive color reside in protected areas. Die breaks (as made) before and after the A in AN DOM. The oak tree has wispy pinscratches near its northeast corner, and the borders are irregular as made. The obverse is slightly off-center, with the legends below the oak tree mostly but not completely on the flan. The eye appeal is very strong overall for the grade, as the oak tree and the majority of the legends are bold. Listed on page 24 of the 2005 Guide Book.(#20)
