Bright AU50 1652 Pine Tree Shilling
1652 SHILNG Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet AU50 NGC. Noe-1, Crosby 12-I, R.2. 71.4 grains. The tree, date, and denomination are bold, as are most of the peripheral legends. Luster shimmers across the ivory-gray and lime-green fields. A mint-made clip is centered at 7 o'clock, and the piece is slightly wavy from impressed marks to the right of the roots and beneath HV. Listed on page 37 of the 2009 Guide Book.Ex: John Carter Brown Auction (Pine Tree, 5/76), lot 670, where it brought $1,100.
