    1652 SHILNG Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet, No Pellets at Trunk -- Cracked Planchet -- VF30 NGC. Noe-2, W-700, Salmon 2-C, R.5. 70.5 gn. No Pellets at Trunk. The Straight Tree variety, which has straight, parallel branches that extend in 45 degree angles. The present midgrade example has a narrow, radial flan crack at 1:30. The surfaces are uncommonly devoid of abrasions. Customary for the series, the edges were trimmed at the Boston Mint to bring the weight within standard, causing the obverse to appear somewhat off center toward 6 o'clock. Listed on page 41 of the 2018 Guide Book.
