Lightly Toned XF Large Planchet
Pine Tree Shilling, Noe-1
1652 SHILNG Pine Tree Shilling, Large Planchet XF40 PCGS.
Crosby 12-I, Noe-1, W-690, R.2. Pellets at trunk. 69.6 gn. A
lightly toned example with a lustrous obverse and moderate wear on
the reverse border at 4:30 and 8 o'clock. Somewhat wavy, as are
most Pine Tree shillings. A couple of peripheral mint-made clips
bring the piece within Boston Mint weight standards. A few small
marks are noted near the obverse inner beaded circle at 3:30.
Housed in a green label holder. Listed on page 37 of the 2009
