Small Planchet, Noe-17, W-840
1652 SHILNG Pine Tree Shilling, Small Planchet, VF35 PCGS.
Noe-17, W-840, Salmon 3-B, R.3. 70.06 grains. This die pair
features doubling on the H in MASATHVSETS, the W in NEW, and on
both I's in XII. The centering is flawless, and every design
element, though lightly worn, remains strong. Mixed steel and deep
gray patina appears naturally over each side with occasional hints
of lavender. Readily appealing in every way. Listed on page 51 of
the 2019 Guide Book.From The Kadison Family Collection.
