Description
1662 Oak Tree Twopence, MS62
Noe-30, Ex: Ford
1662 2PENCE Oak Tree Twopence MS62 PCGS. CAC. Noe-30,
R.4. 11.1 grains. An elegant survivor that combines golden-tan,
silver-blue, and violet shadings in its rich and delightful patina.
Considerable, pleasing luster shines through on each side. The
design is properly centered on the obverse with all details visible
and the center sharp, while the reverse is slightly misaligned with
an unstruck crescent at the lower part and the tops of the letters
NGL in ENGLAND off the flan. Noteworthy visual appeal and excellent
surface quality.Ex: F.C.C. Boyd; The John J. Ford, Jr. Collection of Massachusetts Silver (Stack's, 10/05), lot 66; FUN Signature Sale (Heritage, 1/2009), lot 3533.
