    AU 1722 Blundered Date Variety Rosa Americana Halfpenny

    1722 1/2P Rosa Americana Halfpenny, D. G. REX AU50 PCGS. Breen-135. This is the blundered date variety described by Breen with the date first entered too close to the legend, and then recut with a pellet over the digit 1. Typical dark brown surfaces with light corrosion. It is highly unusual to find any of the Rosa Americana pieces without some degree of corrosion or surface roughness. Listed on page 40 of the 2009 Guide Book.
