    1722 Rosa Americana Penny, MS62
    Martin 2.15-C.5, W-1264

1722 PENNY Rosa Americana Penny, UTILE MS62 PCGS. CAC. M. 2.2-C.1, W-1264, R.4. Although struck with the intention of circulation in the American colonies, William Wood's Rosa Americana coinage was rejected by colonists and most circulated in England at a reduced value. This well-struck and lustrous example shows olive- and green-gold patination with violet accents. Scarce in absolute terms, this variety is moderately more available relative to other penny issues. Listed on page 42 of the 2015 Guide Book. Population: 4 in 62 Brown, 5 finer (6/14).
