Description

1723 Hibernia Silver Farthing, MS63
Martin 3.2-Bc.10

1723 Hibernia Farthing, Silver Pattern, MS63 PCGS. M. 3.2-Bc.10, W-12500, R.5. Housed in a PCGS green-label holder, generation 3.1, as MS63 while PCGS verification gives the grade as SP63. A splendid and desirable silver Hibernia farthing. 1723 farthings in copper are plentiful, but the silver pieces are sufficiently rare that most advanced cabinets, such as the Garrett collection, lacked an example. This lovely piece possesses flashy fields and meticulously struck devices. Delicately and attractively toned in peripheral golden-brown and sea-green shades. Thorough evaluation locates a few faint hairlines on the reverse field, but these do not begin to challenge the grade. Listed on page 15 of the 2026 Guide Book. Population: 13 in 63, 18 finer (1/26).
