1724 Hibernia Halfpenny, MS64 Red
Martin 4.51-K.4

1724 1/2 P Hibernia Halfpenny MS64 Red PCGS. M. 4.51-K.4, W-13690, R.2. Stop after date. 11 harpstrings. Since the 1724 Hibernia halfpenny is nearly three centuries old, it is little surprise that full Red examples are nearly unobtainable. As of (3/18), PCGS lists just three such pieces in all grades, with the present near-Gem tied for finest certified as Red. Peach-red dominates the fields. The device high points are steel-gray, and three dashes of gunmetal toning are noted along the right reverse margin. Nicely struck and devoid of abrasions. Listed on page 47 of the 2018 Guide Book.
