    Remarkable Hibernia Halfpenny Specimen 64 Brown

    1724 1/2P Hibernia Halfpenny SP64 Brown PCGS. Date Below. N-13. "Goiter Head" portrait displays large swelling at truncation. Hibernia seated on the reverse holds an 11-string harp. Similar to Garrett (XF), Roper ((Fine), and Taylor (Proof 63) examples, but not from the same die. The deep copper-bronzed surfaces are relieved by Mint red around the lettering and the devices. Larger and heavier than business strikes. Remarkably well struck and exquisitely preserved, displaying a few tiny pinpricks in the left reverse field. Probably the finest known.
