Description
1758/4-A SOU M French Colonies Sou Marque -- Reverse Not Silvered -- AU58 PCGS. Breen-415, Vlack-39c. Second semester. The overdate is not listed on the PCGS insert. Breen (1988) listed this variety as "Extremely rare." Vlack gives the rarity as R.7. A Paris Mint error without silver plating on the reverse. Well struck in the centers, while the borders are softly impressed. The obverse is medium brown; the reverse is pearl-gray with olive, brown, and rose overtones.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2006), lot 21.
