1766 1/2P Pitt Halfpenny AU50 PCGS. Betts-519, W-8350, R.3. The "Great Commoner" William Pitt successfully negotiated the repeal of the Stamp Act in Parliament, to the relief of New England merchants. This moderately circulated medal is mostly steel-gray with glimpses of golden-brown in design crevices. Smooth save for minor granularity on the right field near the portrait. Listed on page 50 of the 2014 Guide Book.
