    Description

1767-A 9DEN French Colonies Copper Sou AU55 PCGS. No RF countermark. Examples of the 1767-A copper sou without a countermark are much scarcer. They were issued at the time of production for circulation in the French colonies, including the Caribbean, unlike countermarked examples, which were dispersed sometime after 1793. This glossy brown Choice AU piece is lightly marked at the upper-left obverse. The reverse is in a late state with peripheral elements drawn to the rims. Listed on page 65 of the 2019 Guide Book.
