1773 1/2 P Virginia Halfpenny, Period, MS64 Red PCGS Secure. N. 21-N, W-1545, High R.4. A scarcer die marriage, best distinguished from Newman 20-N by a smaller space between the VS in GEORGIVS. Full Red Virginia halfpennies are scarce. This peach-gold Choice copper shows a hint of gunmetal-gray on the high points of King George III. The central reverse displays slight flan granularity, as coined, but post-strike contact is virtually absent. Listed on page 57 of the 2019 Guide Book. Population: 39 in 64 Red, 2 finer (6/18).
