    1776 $1 Continental Dollar, CURRENCY, Pewter--Corroded--NCS. AU Details. Newman 2-C, W-8455, R.3. A deep gray example of this historic and enigmatic Revolutionary War issue. Nearly full design detail is present, but several spots of tin pest are present on each side. The reverse border between 2 and 3 o'clock has inconspicuous scrapes. Glimpses of luster emerge from the designs. Struck from widely rotated dies. Listed on page 81 of the 2010 Guide Book.
