1779 Brass Rhode Island Ship Token, XF
No Wreath Below Ship, W-1730
1779 TOKEN Rhode Island Ship Token, No Wreath, Brass XF40 PCGS.
Breen-1139, W-1730, R.3. A majority of Rhode Island ship tokens
are copper, but the present piece is the scarce brass variety. It
is primarily light olive-green with glimpses of salmon-pink here
and there. Protected areas show the minor verdigris characteristic
of the issue. Well defined for the grade. Listed on page 50 of the
2013 Guide Book.Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 9/2009), lot 15, which realized $2,990.
