    1783 1C Washington & Independence Cent, Draped Bust, Button AU55 NGC. Baker-5, Vlack 22-R, W-10440, High R.6. The rare W-10440 variety of the Washington & Independence Draped Bust cent is recognized by the button on the tunic, and the position of the 7 in the date slightly lower than the 1 and 8. This specimen is particularly well preserved, with a sharp strike and hints of red color near the rims. Listed on page 76 of the 2011 Guide Book. MRB AU50.
