    Description

    1783 1C Washington & Independence Cent, Draped Bust, No Button, Copper Restrike, Plain Edge PR63 Brown NGC. Baker-3C, W-10310, R.6. The Taylor proof restrike, identified by the small 3 in the date and the drapery fold over the 7. The Soho Mint of Birmingham, England, closed in 1848, and W.J. Taylor used four pairs of dies from that facility to produce these restrike Washington coppers. Beautiful golden-brown toning blankets this fully struck and unabraded example. Two small obverse spots are all that determine the grade. MRB PR60.
