Description

1783 Washington & Independence Cent, PR65
19th Century Silver Restrike, GW-107

1783 1C Washington & Independence Cent, Draped Bust, No Button, Silver Restrike, Engrailed Edge, PR65 PCGS. Baker-3A, Vlack 17-L, W-10380, GW-107, R.5. The well-made W.S. Lincoln "No Button, Large 3" restrike in silver, offered here, was produced during the middle part of the 19th century. This restrike variety is often confused with the Taylor proof restrikes, which feature a Small 3. This pleasing Gem is boldly struck and carefully preserved. The rich sea-green and rose patina is both original and attractive. Much scarcer than the copper restrikes from the same dies. Listed on page 46 of the 2026 Guide Book.
