    Description

Beautiful Uncirculated 1783 Nova Constellatio Copper

1783 COPPER Nova Constellatio Copper, Blunt Rays MS60 Brown PCGS. Crosby 3-C, R.3. Aside from the rare circulating counterfeit 1786, a Guide Book collection of Nova Constellatio pieces is a challenging but affordable undertaking. Mint State examples, however, are quite rare. Even more rare are Uncirculated pieces with formidable eye appeal. This is a coin that has it all: lovely, smooth surfaces; pleasing chocolate-brown and medium brown color; a penetrating strike; and that extra something that makes an Early American piece desirable. Listed on page 40 of the 2005 Guide Book. Population: 1 in 60, 4 finer (6/05).
Ex: Wesley Van Olden Collection (Heritage, 9/03), lot 5205, which realized $3,795.
