1783 COPPER Nova Constellatio Copper, Pointed Rays, Large US AU58 PCGS. Crosby 1-A, W-1860, R.4.
The variety is confirmed by a widely spaced date and the presence of dentil impressions over the upper-obverse. This near-Mint piece displays light-brown surface coloration and sharply struck design elements, save for a touch of softness over the lower-right portion of the wreath, always seen on coins of this issue. While these pieces saw extensive circulation, only the slightest trace trace of wear is visible. This is the finest example we have offered since 2006. Listed on page 54 of the 2015 Guide Book. Population: 4 in 58, 0 finer (6/14).
