W-1785, Short Worm
1783 SHILNG Chalmers Shilling, Short Worm VF20 NGC. Breen-1011,
W-1785, High R.4. An uneven strike affects the lower left
obverse and the left side of the reverse with the opposing points
showing excellent design definition. The poor quality of the strike
challenges the grading process. Pewter-gray surfaces exhibit
splashes of light gray on each side. Although the worm is not
visible due to the strike, a heavy die line down from the S in
SHILLING identifies this variety. Listed on page 53 of the 2018
