AU53, Among Finest Certified

1785 COPPER Connecticut Copper, African Head AU53 NGC. Miller 4.1-F.4, W-2355, R.1. Predominantly olive-brown with occasional glimpses of rose-red in reverse crevices. The strike is generally good, although the right border still shows traces of the granular texture of the planchet. NGC has certified 11 examples, but among those, only the present coin is graded higher than XF40 (10/09). Listed on page 59 of the 2010 Guide Book.
