1785 Nova Constellatio Copper, MS62 Brown
Crosby 3-B, Ex: Ellsworth-Garrett
1785 Nova Constellatio Copper, Pointed Rays, Large Date, Crosby
3-B, W-1895, R.2, MS62 Brown NGC. Ex: Garrett. 108.2 grains,
per its Garrett catalog appearance. The often-seen late die state
with die crumbling on the rays and NOVA, and a die break on the
wreath above the date. Golden-brown surfaces alternate with deeper
brown. A single diagonal line near 3:30 on the date side. Possibly
the first auction appearance of the present lot since the Garrett
sale more than 45 years ago. Listed on page 52 of the 2025 Guide
