Description

1786 COPPER Connecticut Copper, Hercules Head VF25 PCGS. M. 5.3-N, R.2. Medium purple-brown patina. Struck about 5% off center near 6 o'clock. The reverse die is very late stage, with sunken borders and heavy die clashes. ORI and CON from the obverse legends are incused into the lower reverse, as made. This final die stage is likely very scarce, especially with relatively sharp devices and uncorroded surfaces.
