    1786 Connecticut Copper, Choice VF
    Mailed Bust Left, M. 5.4-N
    Rare Die Marriage

1786 COPPER Connecticut Copper, Mailed Bust Left VF35 NGC. M. 5.4-N, W-2585, High R.6. This medium to deep brown example of the rare Miller die marriage is unblemished. Nicely centered, it has a full, sharp date. This is a late die state with the reverse die sinking near Liberty's right (facing) shoulder, causing indistinct definition in the vicinity and opposite on the back of the neck of the portrait. On the obverse, the rim is crumbling above OR in AUCTORI, and die chips and a crack impact the first N in CONNEC. Listed on page 61 of the 2014 Guide Book.
From The Old New England Collection.
